9 weeks and counting...
Well I've now had 2 appointments since I last posted. My appointment on the day of my last post was ok - weight gain was alright, but my blood pressure was a little high. One thing that was frustrating was that Dr. Eldredge didn't take it a second time. It's frequently high at the beginning of the visit, because I get nervous - the second time I'm usually fine. Dr. Eldredge decided that coming back in a week was a better alternative, so I was back there again last Thursday.
My last appointment was with Dr. Crandall - LOVE HIM! Blood pressure was good, I'd actually lost half a pound and the baby's measurements and heart rate were looking good. There was a little protein in my urine - not enough to cause alarm, but Dr. Crandall decided that it was best to send me for blood work anyway. His theory was that he'd rather send me now, and this way if there's a problem, we catch it early. Today I was pleasantly surprised to have a voicemail from Dr. Crandall checking in. My bloodwork came back normal, which made me happy. Dr. Crandall was very nice - he said he just wanted to see how I was feeling, let me know that my test results were good and to call with any questions. And he was kind enough to wise me a Happy Thanksgiving too. :-)
One other big thing this week was my work baby shower! We got all sorts of goodies, some great accessories for the nursery and the big gift - the travel system I picked out. As soon as I opened it, I said "Yay, I can bring the baby home from the hospital now!". It was so much fun, and reminded me what a caring and generous group of people I work with. My family and friends shower will be in a couple of weeks - after having one shower, I can't wait for this next one!
Well Todd reminded me that a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is on tonight, and it starts in about 15 minutes...so the good wife that I am, I'm off to tape it for him. :-)
Til later...
